Scuba Diving

scPADI - Advanced Open Water Diver. I wanted to do this since watching Lloyd Bridges in Sea Hunt as a child.  Wreck diving and night time navigation – a real wow!

scMost of my diving has been based in the Red Sea and Arabian Gulf, in particular at Yanbu, Jeddah and Al Khobar. Yes, I prefer warm water dives to cold water dives. The light in the Red Sea was amazing. The wreck dives like a scene out of a Bond movie.

scIn the UK I have dived in water close to freezing in wet suits and, prompted by the experience, have attempted to learn how to dive in a dry suit.  Diving in a dry suit – now that was weird! I’ve been trained by both PADI and BSAC – both were excellent.

sc Following a long overdue Scuba Review (August 2007 and another in July 2010) I am trying to get some practice in. The Emergency First Response and  Rescue Diver course are  my next two scuba diving goals.

scSeptember 19th 2007: Mallorca.  Two 1 hour boat dives from Porto Cristo with Skualo.  Excellent group leader (and buddy). Good practice in kit assembly, backward rolls and buoyancy. July 14th 2010: 1 hour dive, Roman Walls, Paphos, Cyprus, with Cydive.
